Oh My God!
Kanjilalji Mehta - a hard core atheist and business man - - he sells Godly Idols to people (topped with make believe stories) in shop located in the Chor Bazar of Mumbai. The mild earthquake destroys his shop - his only source of income to support his family. The Insurance people says he cannot claim money from the company as his shop is destroyed in acts of God.. (as far as my knowledge goes no Insurance company mentions natural calamities - earthquake, flood etc as Acts of God). The angry atheist files a case against Bhagawan!
The way Paresh Rawal expresses his wrath at this juncture is simply awesome :)
The Court too admits his case with the religious heads (salesmen of GOD :) being liable for damage. All the hell breaks loose on Kanji. His house is attacked by goons and his wife and children leave him alone to his fate!
There enters Krishna the Bhagwan.. swirling the hi-fi bike key chain (a peacock feather model made of stones ) After a long time Akshay Kumar stands still and gives out a benevolent look at Kanji as well as all the happenings around him.
He gives guidance to Kanji.. directly/indirectly..
How the salesmen of God.. (the clan of swamijis -- Mithun Chakraborthy, Govind Namdeo, Poonam Jhawer) Vs Eka akelaa Kanji -- Case against God moves on -- makes this movie worth watching.
Though not a movie to attract youth - this movie has good arguments and quantities of food for thought!
Paresh Rawal carries the movie alone with his adorable performance as Kanji. And the dialogues are the best enjoyed ones.
If you are atheist enough to question about the existence of God -- watch it to support ur theme.
If you are a staunch theist -- there is enough proof for u that God exists!
The director made his argument carefully grow on us -- finally ends with a statement from Mithun Chakraborthy -- that as long as people are God Fearing instead of God Loving.. the swamijis have no dearth of disciples! The simple human weakness on which all religions are thriving!
Love gives Faith n Confidence..
Whereas Fear only leads to inferior complex and dependence on some blind belief!
Its for us to choose to be God Loving or God Fearing!
